About the author

I was born in the city of Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir, India in circa 2003. I am a passionate reader, writer, poet & columnist. Since my childhood, I have been exposed to the environment of learing and education. Both of my parents being educated, I have developed in me an interest for learning, reading, and writing and observing. Since my school education was from a prestigious local school, it significantly helped me to chart my progress towards expanding my interest I began writing short stories, poems, and rhymes at my place and gradually gained the confidence of submitting it to the newspapers and magazines for a wide readership which renewed my confidence and gave me a sense of emancipation because my words became the voice of many. Presently, I am studying in Class XII in Delhi Public School, Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir. I also envision myself as an author and a voice for so many young girls like me who because of some misfortunes, are not able to express themselves. My writing in effect should encourage them to come forward and write whatever they feel confident in—poetry, prose and so on.
